Obituary for Jason Orville William Burmaster

BURMASTER, Jason
With saddened hearts and a story left untold we are heartbroken to acknowledge the tragic loss of Jason at the young age of 41. He leaves behind his most prized possessions, his children Austin and Kennedy, as well as his mother Nicole Chisholm, dad Chris Chisholm, John and Monique Burmaster, sister Christina and special brother in law Kevin Zeiger. He was a very special uncle to Neil, Harley, Kaila, Katia and Maggie Maye. He also leaves his Grandmother Ardeth Burmaster and countless aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. His family and friends meant the world to Jason.
Jason was an amazing father to Austin and Kennedy and treated every child that came through the door like one of his own. He had a special bond with Gregory and Makayla.
Jason was a man who loved to work, he could rebuild a skidder motor as easy as he could make a sandwich. He loved to dance, joke and was always there to help anyone who needed him.
We will miss the magical twinkle in his eyes that told us he was ok. We will miss his hugs that felt like he was putting our pieces back together. Jason was a born leader, “camp leader”, he led the greatest adventures, told the best stories, always caught the biggest fish and made the best fires. We will make sure we keep the fires going for him.
Mental illness and addiction robbed Jason of the man we all knew and loved. No matter how hard we all tried we couldn’t, nor could he keep his demons at bay.
Jason will forever be in our thoughts, in the faces of his children and in our hearts.
There are no words to express the loss we feel and everyone else’s lives whom Jason has touched. We loved him and we know he loved us.
Thank you to all the people for reaching out to us at this difficult time.
An account will soon be established at the Thessalon Northern Credit Union for Austin and Kennedy in memory of Jason.
A private celebration of Jason’s life will be held at a later date.
