Peterson, Elizabeth Jane “Betty”
August 3, 1945 – March 13, 2019
It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Betty Peterson with family by her side while at Maison McCulloch Hospice in Sudbury. She has joined her husband and her forever love Vyrn. Lovingly remembered by her daughter Kerry Peterson (Mike) and her son Cory Peterson. Beloved Grams of Randalyn, Savanna (Bill), Michael (Tia), Jesse and Tracy (Keith). Treasured Great Grams to Paris, Minisha, Kaia, Aurora, Damian, Zoey and Jasmine. Loving sister of Peter, Paul, Michael, Robert and Woody. She was an aunt and a friend to many.
Betty was an active community member volunteering her time with the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch #189 in Blind River, the Lions Club, the Eastern Star and the Cadets. In 2012 she was the recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee Medal given for outstanding community services.
The family wants to thank the nurses and doctors at Maison MuCulloch Hospice as well as the staff at Share Care and the Northeast Cancer Treatment Centre.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #189 in Blind River on Saturday, March 23, 2019 beginning at 12pm until time of service at 2pm. Reverend Roberta Garrett-Wilson officiating. Luncheon to follow services.
Members of the Blind River Lions Club are requested to assemble at the Legion on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 2:00pm for a memorial service for the late Lion Elizabeth “Betty” Peterson.
