A kind, gentle soul, Dorothy Ruth (Boyes) (Weber) Gal, age 84, formerly of Paris, passed away peacefully at Mitchell Nursing Home on Saturday, May 5, 2018. Dorothy was born May 15, 1933, daughter of the late Thomas and Phyllis (Wietersen) Boyes. Dorothy was predeceased by her husbands Karl Weber, (March 1984) and Andrew Gal, (August 2017). She was a member of Bethel Church (Stratford) and previously Cedarview Church (Paris). Dearly missed by son Kent (Kathy) Weber of Thessalon, Ontario, daughter Colette Brenner of Wasaga Beach, Ontario. Proud and loving grandmother of Elizabeth, Nicole and Natasha. Survived by her brother Brian (Barbara) Boyes and her sister Laurel (Jim) Laughton. Along with nephews and nieces; Matthew Boyes (Melissa), Lorraine (Mike) Player, Catherine (Greg) Wolfkamp and Dennis (Lisa) Laughton and families. Survived by her step-children; Robert (Karen) Gal, Sandra (Don) White and Joyce (Steve) Rubenstein and sister-in-law Dorothea Woerns and nephews Rolf and Norbert and niece Carmen (George) Ejsmont. She will be missed by her special friend Wilma McCaig. Besides her parents and her husbands, Dorothy was predeceased by a step-daughter Beverly Mercer (2017) and brother-in-law Karl Woerns. Dorothy grew up in Stratford, and enjoyed living in Vineland, Thessalon, Stratford and Paris before returning to Stratford. She worked at Mac’s Milk, 711 as well as the Medical Pharmacy for several years. Friends and family may call at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 from 4-8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Bethel Church, 2988 Hwy 7&8 Stratford (beside Home Hardware) on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Charles Swartwood will officiate. Friends may call at the Thessalon Bible Chapel on Monday May 14, 2018 from 1:30pm until time of service at 2:30 with Charlie Martin officiating. Interment in Maple Ridge Cemetery. A Celebration of Dorothy’s Life will follow the interment at the Bible Chapel from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to Mission Partners International (London), Bethel Church (Stratford), Mitchell Nursing Home Enrichment Fund or a Charity of your choice through the funeral home
