Obituary for Jeannette Anita Deschamps (Monroe)

Jeannette Anita Deschamps (Monroe)
Deschamps, Jeannette
March 13, 1917-September 26, 2017
It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our family’s matriarch Jeannette Deschamps who peacefully passed away at the North Shore Health Network, Blind River on September 26, 2017 at the ripe ole age of 100. She left a legacy for her 8 children, numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren by instilling in us the values, morals and skills that will remain with us throughout our lives.
Jeannette is survived by her children Ernie “Bizook”, Marie-Rose, Ron (Rejeanne), Anne (Marc), Theresa (Ron), and John (Lindy). She was predeceased by her parents Alphonse and Rose Monroe, her beloved husband Patrick, known by her as “Dad”, her daughter Patricia (Floyd), her son Emile “Satch” (Kathleen), her great grandson Tyler, her siblings Rita, Darcy, John and Bernadette and her daughter in law Helene.
Mom’s priority was being a mother, placing her children first and always finding a way to provide for her family. She ran a tight ship and was strict making sure that we completed our chores, used our manners and respected our elders. She was an incredible cook and kept an immaculate home up until the end of her life. Mom and Dad enjoyed their nightly game of cards and each other’s company. Their home was welcoming and always open to family and friends.
The family wishes to thank the doctors, PSW’s, nursing, kitchen, and cleaning staff who tended to and cared for our mother during her hospital stay. We also want to thank Community Care Access for helping our mother live independently well into her 100th year.
If desired, donations can be made to the charity of your choice and are greatly appreciated by the family.
Family and friends may visit at the Menard Funeral Home 705-356-7151 in Blind River, on Monday, October 2, 2017 between 11am and 1230pm. Funeral service will follow visitation and will start at 1pm at the Paroisse Ste. Famille in Blind River with Sister Bernadette officiating. Interment at Hillside Cemetery following services. Arrangements entrusted to Menard Funeral Home www.menardfh.com
